Discovery MedCamp Intern Position Announcement

Discovery MedCamp is a multi-day, residential camp for high school students interested in health care careers. Campers gain first-hand experience/insight from professionals and health professions students while gaining a greater understanding of the ever-changing world of health care.

Position Description: Student intern will assist in the execution of a week-long, summer-enrichment program June 9-14,2019, providing education for high school students interested in medical careers. Interns will be expected to stay overnight in the Camp lodging at Camp Chandler Sunday through Thursday night as monitors for students during all camp activities.

Key Responsibilities: Serve as Camp Monitors: enforce all safety and risk management policies

• Assist Camp Director and SEAAHEC staff with activities as assigned

• Serve as a role model: punctual, attentive, and organized

• Attend scheduled meetings and training prior to camp

• Participate in all camp activities: must be able to attend each session of camp and orientation meeting prior to camp week

• Background and drug screening required upon acceptance of position. Orientation and training sessions to be held in early May 2019.

Benefits: Interns will receive all camp materials, meals, lodging, and transportation during the week of camp, and up to a $200 stipend based on performance expectations.
